All About Rice

Tuesday, May 6

Recently, I been browsing some photos and some Philippine snacks I had while I was still little, living the heart of Davao City, Philippines. When I was on my childhood days, I always been fascinated with snacks, especially with Ampaw ( Puffed Rice) or so called a rice krispies, it is a Puffed rice is a type of puffed grain made from rice; usually made by heating rice kernels under high pressure in the presence of steam, though the method of manufacture varies widely.. I missed eating Nora too, a red shape like corn, soft and sweet taste. Those little rice snack, made with different colors and flavors. But now, I truly missed eating puffed rice.

I remember way back few years ago, we went to Linamon, Lanao Del Norte, Philippines, where we found a factory of puffed rice. And when we went inside to see how did they make the puffed rice, I was amazed since it was just so easy. Sometimes, it burst where it startled me. But it is more fun too. After that, I ended up having a huge, ampaw on my hands for free! I just don't forget those times. It was a nice experience of a 7 years old girl, right? Since, then, I love eating puffed rice. Though I saw a lot of puffed rice here but no one beat the ampaw of the Philippines...hmmm....
